Exercises
This guide is for gym owners and personal trainers using Orlo to streamline operations, engage clients, and grow their business.
The Exercises section lets you manage the individual movements used in your classes. These exercises form the foundation of your templates and class plans.
Staff with permission to manage exercises can access this section from the dashboard. You’ll see a searchable list of all exercises and a button to add new ones.
Creating and editing exercises
When creating or editing an exercise, you can add:
- Multilingual name and description
- Exercise type (e.g. strength, mobility, cardio)
- Primary muscle group (e.g. legs, back, arms)
- Optional training methodologies (e.g. push/pull, circuit, HIIT)
- Unit of measure (time, reps, or sets)
- Optional video demo (optimized automatically after upload)
Each exercise is saved with the creator’s name and belongs to your gym only.
Archiving and restoring
If you’re no longer using an exercise, you can archive it to keep your list clean. Archived exercises can be restored at any time.
Using exercises in classes
Exercises can be added to class templates or directly to events. When assigning an exercise, you can set:
- Station order
- Whether it’s timed, for reps, or sets
- Custom trainer notes, for example to give personal training clients tailored advice.
Keeping your exercise library up to date ensures better class planning, smoother trainer workflows, and more consistent client experiences.
