Class Plan Templates
This guide is for gym owners and personal trainers using Orlo to streamline operations, engage clients, and grow their business.
Templates let staff predefine a set of exercises for a particular class type. They’re used by Orlo’s automatic class planner to generate balanced, varied sessions and can also be selected manually when planning specific events.
Creating a New Template
To create a new template:
- Go to the Templates section in the staff dashboard.
- Click Add template.
-
Fill in the form fields:
- Name: A label to help identify the template.
- Class Type: Choose which kind of class this template is for (e.g. Strength, PT).
- Client (optional): Link the template to a specific client if needed for PT.
- Methodology: Select the training method (e.g. Superset, Circuit, AMRAP).
- Direction (optional): Choose the focus or flow (e.g. Upper body, Lower body).
- Notes: Add any relevant details for trainers.
- Click Create to save the template.
Adding Exercises
Once a template is created, you’ll see a section to build out the workout plan:
Add Exercises
- Use the Search bar to look up exercises by name or muscle group.
- Click to add an exercise to the template.
- Each added item becomes a planned exercise linked to a specific station and position.
View Planned Exercises
- All exercises added to the template are listed in the Planned Exercises section.
- You can adjust their order or remove them as needed.
How Templates Are Used
Templates are scored and selected automatically by Orlo’s class planning engine based on:
- Client attendance and past exercise history.
- Muscle group variety and training recency.
- Template methodology and direction.
When a class is planned using a template, the system copies over the exercises and fills in the set timing automatically. Templates are a powerful way to deliver consistent, high-quality sessions while still personalizing them for each group.
