Client Referrals

This guide is for gym owners and personal trainers using Orlo to streamline operations, engage clients, and grow their business.

Orlo supports a referral program that allows your members to invite friends to join your gym and rewards them when their referrals become paying clients. Everything is tracked automatically and visible in the staff dashboard.

How it works

  1. Clients share a personal signup link
    Every client has access to a Refer a Friend page in their dashboard. This page shows a personalized URL and QR code they can share with friends. The link includes their unique referrer_id so the system can track who invited whom.
  2. Friends sign up using the referral link
    When a friend opens the link and registers, the signup form automatically tracks who referred them.
  3. Relationships are tracked
    The system stores the relationship between the original client and the referred user. This allows you to see how many people each client has referred and how much revenue those referrals generated.
  4. Staff monitor referral performance
    In the staff dashboard, you can view a list of referrers, how many signups they generated, and how much money those signups have brought in. You can click into each referral to view individual client profiles.
  5. You reward successful referrals
    Once a referred client becomes a paying member, Orlo automatically applies credit to the original client’s next subscription. You can decide how much credit in gym settings.

Example reward structure

We recommend something simple, like:

  • “Get €25 off your next month for every friend you refer who joins the gym.”
  • “Invite 3 friends and earn a free personal training session.”

Just make sure the reward feels meaningful to your clients and easy to claim.

  • Client link: Clients can visit /clients/refer to get their personalized referral link and QR code.
  • Referral tracking: You can see performance data in the staff dashboard under the Referrers section.

  • Promote it via email, WhatsApp, or a banner on your homepage.
  • Make sure clients understand the benefit clearly.
  • Use the staff dashboard to follow up and apply rewards consistently.
